Project Overview
After 35 years of distributing only hardware and doors, the new owners of Nix Hardware & Door asked us to rebrand the company with a logo to include five divisions of home products that they wanted to market to homeowners and home builders. The logo was to drop the words door and hardware from the name and to express graphically the five new divisions: doors, windows, fireplaces, hardware, and home security.

The Solution

The target audience for the Nix products are homeowners and home developers. After branding consultation sessions with the new owners, Distillery Creative developed a beautiful mark that included a home consisting of five elements that represented each of the five new divisions: doors, windows, fireplaces, hardware, and home security. Knowing this brand would need to be a strong mark competing for attention on catalog pages featuring other home brands, we developed the Nix with a strong sans serif font and developed colors for each of the divisions. The logomark displays beautifully on signage, company trucks, and collateral material.

We developed the website to follow through with the initial branding by creating five sections of the website and colonizing each section to maintain continuity.
